As a dancer I have learned that cultures and communities do mix through the arts, especially through community dance and music. That's the beautiful aspect of art. Thus in this painting I am employing an old image of a white woman dancing with a black man so happily and juxtaposing it with a portrait of a beautiful woman from a ethnically mixed family.
