Painting and drawing is not only a passion it is something inside that as an artist I am compelled to do ..to … show people the beauty from my eyes… in the world around us today ..to hopefully give more appreciation to see what we are so lucky to have in our lives no matter where we live or our circumstances… personally I feel very blessed to have the gift which I do….and not until I have . . .

My name is Anthony M. Grimaldi of JourneyManDesigns, a resident of New York City, a metropolis of successful and starving artists of every stripe and persuasion. I am content to be either, but never to be neither.I am a born artist and illustrator, with a fierce creative drive. As a child, I was always drawing, sketching, and building sets for my friends and I to play on with our toys. As a young . . .

Arlene was born in Ketchikan, the first city in southeastern Alaska, along the Inland Passage.  She, along with her older and younger brother, enjoyed growing up in the land of "The Last Frontier" swimming, boating, and fishing on the wonderful waters of the inland passage.  As a young woman Arlene came to the "lower 48".  She and her husband Richard moved to Northwest Oregon and established a . . .

The very first painting I ever did, meaning the first time my hands put paint to canvas, won an award and garnered me a scholarship to the Minneapolis Institute of Art and Design. I'd been a prolific pencil artist up to that point. I had sketchbooks full of drawings but until my senior year in high school had never been exposed to painting. Needless to say I found my life's calling and the paintin . . .

I am from Port Angeles Washington, but currently live in Spokane Washington. I've spent all of my life being creative and doing my own type of art work. As a little kid I loved to paint, draw, and just create. Around 2014 I stopped because my grandmother passed away from cancer. Then in 2015 I had respiratory failure and I realized I need to do what I love. What I love is creating. I got my spark . . .

I have been painting and creating in my heart all of my life, but have been painting in watercolor since 1988.  I added acrylics to my media in 2016 and have been enjoying them.  If my paintings bring joy to others then I have accomplished my goal.  I enjoy many styles of art and my subject matter is as eclectic as I am myself.Several of my paintings have won awards over the years; the latest f . . .

I paint emotionI find it in the eyes, that fleeting, natural moment, candid, unposed. I paint exclusively with pastels, using their beautiful glow and vibrancy in a painterly, impressionistic way. My paintings are about people, and that magic time when emotion, mood and gesture reveal an elusive moment. A story and a little mystery live in that moment. I have been an artist working in gouache, some watercolor, and water based oils. I do both traditional as well as abstract art. Currently I am also focusing on surface design, based on original works, reworked through digital media. I am an author, Dinner With Cecile and William, a cookbook with my co-author William Maltese. Plus, Light Within Cobblestones, which has 24 illustrations in tradition . . .

ARTIST’S STATEMENT With a scientific background and a love for the outdoors most of my inspiration is from the natural world.  Always torn between the creative and the analytical I have a particular fascination with things found at boundaries, natural, philosophical, or visual. Exploring the intersection of man-made objects with the natural world is as intriguing as the sunlit edge of an open . . .

I began painting in 2009 after a long career in financial services.  My wife, Alice, had oil paints and I tried that for a while, but took a series of lessons from Tom Quinn and switched to acrylics.  I learned more from Ke'vin Bowers, and  Terry Lee.  What's my style?  No clue.  But growing up in Montana, spending much of my youth on a lake, I've always loved scenery, especially grasses.  . . .
