I paint emotionI find it in the eyes, that fleeting, natural moment, candid, unposed. I paint exclusively with pastels, using their beautiful glow and vibrancy in a painterly, impressionistic way. My paintings are about people, and that magic time when emotion, mood and gesture reveal an elusive moment. A story and a little mystery live in that moment. Commission a portrait, and you will have a special memory of the person you love ... for a lifetime.Many of my pastel paintings are of people from other countries. I was intrigued by the Maasai/Samburu people, and the strong ochre color that dominates their life. Maasai Mama has been the center point of that series. Other cultures I've painted are from the Middle East and Japan. Pastel has a beauty no other medium can match. Enjoy it through my paintings.Living on the Gulf Coast for most of my life, I have also come to enjoy painting the flowers, bayous, and landscapes of the South.
