DESCRIPTION
This pastel painting is only the 2nd time I have painted from a live model. I usually work from reference photographs, so painting live I thought would be a challenge. How surprised I was to find it much easier and quicker. Rebecca posed in 6 20-minute sessions. The first session and second, I simply drew, kind of learning her pose and gesture. The 3rd session I switched to my sanded paper and drew her a third time. The 4th and 5th sessions I painted with pastel, stepped and decided it was finished. Left it loose, painterly, energetic.
