I began painting in 2009 after a long career in financial services. My wife, Alice, had oil paints and I tried that for a while, but took a series of lessons from Tom Quinn and switched to acrylics. I learned more from Ke'vin Bowers, and Terry Lee. What's my style? No clue. But growing up in Montana, spending much of my youth on a lake, I've always loved scenery, especially grasses.
So I paint landscapes, and abstracts based on landscapes.
In 2014, I was juried in to Terrain, and again ino 2015. Since this is a show primarily for emerging artists, I hold the title of Spokane's Oldest Emerging Artist.
My paintings show better "live". I will admit to not being a very good photographer, so if you see something pictured on Flootie, odds are it looks better in my studio. I invite you to visit and see the art in person, and I'll tell you the story behind each one.
