About

I began painting in 2009 after a long career in financial services.  My wife, Alice, had oil paints and I tried that for a while, but took a series of lessons from Tom Quinn and switched to acrylics.  I learned more from Ke'vin Bowers, and  Terry Lee.  What's my style?  No clue.  But growing up in Montana, spending much of my youth on a lake, I've always loved scenery, especially grasses.  So I paint landscapes, and abstracts based on landscapes. In 2014, I was juried in to Terrain, and again in 2015.  Since this is a show primarily for emerging artists, I hold the title of Spokane's Oldest Emerging Artist. My paintings show better "live".  I will admit to not being a very good photographer, so if you see something pictured on Flootie, odds are it looks better in my studio.  I invite you to visit and see the art in person, and I'll tell you the story behind each one. Thanks for visiting my section of Flootie.  And don't be shy!  Pick up that phone and call!  509-325-0471
