Layne Brady

About

Layne has had an interest in art since his earliest memories.  He attended BYU received an associates degree from SLCC and finished up in Logan at Utah State University.  During and immediately after school he spent 14 years in graphic design and illustration.       Over those years of steady employment he continued his fine art education by studying with some of the finest Oil painters in the nation. Namely Zhang Wen Xin, a premier painter from China, Daniel Green, nationally acclaimed portraitist from New York, Carolyn Anderson and internationally acclaimed artist, Richard Schmid.  His art has also been influenced by locally accomplished artists.  A D Shaw, George Allen and Larry Wade.     In 2001 Layne decided to follow his dream and pursue his painting and sculpture full time. Layne enjoys a wide variety of subject matter and is as comfortable sculpting in clay as with using a paint brush. He curentlty has sculpture in public places and has portraits in collections in every US state and 5 different countries. Another love of his in similar disipline is illustrating childrensn books. He is more concerned with the process and creating the best piece of art that he can.
